Mission Accomplished?

Today we reached the number of 39 interviews. I must admit that these interviews are physically quite exhausting. Are you satisfied with the results? The often heard question. Difficult to answer. At least, these interviews were invaluable to gain insights in what is really going on at the Tribunal. It will take months, if not years before we can fully analyse the materials recorded.

Meanwhile, Arusha revives as the Sullivan Summit is attracting international attention to the city. This conference, announced by the President as “the summit of a lifetime” attracts some 3000 foreign delegates to the city. The aim is to enhance economic investment and global partnerships and to increase the living standards of the ‘ordinary’ African and Tanzanian people. The local people remain with their both feet on the ground. “It is about us but we can not even pay the 500 $ entrance fee”, a man cynically told me last night.

I have some time now for finishing up the work and wait for Ibele to have some wonderful safari and relaxing holidays on Zanzibar…

Asanthe!!
